Why Guided Questions Not AI?
Building code isn't a simple lookup, it's layers of interdependent rules, exceptions, and conditions that shift based on the specifics of a project. AI-generated answers can sound confident while missing the intricacies that actually determine compliance. CodeCompass is built differently: every question is designed to surface the exact detail the code requires, so the result reflects the full complexity of the code itself, not a best guess.
That doesn't mean AI has no place in the process. CodeCompass is supported by kAtIe, an AI assistant built to guide you through each step, so help is always available when a question needs clarifying. kAtIe assists you through the process; she doesn't generate your compliance results. The rigor behind every report still comes from the guided questions themselves.
The Report
At the end of the guided interview, CodeCompass generates a clear, authoritative compliance report, built to confirm your project's accuracy and ready to submit directly to your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Each report lays out exactly where your project stands on occupancy classification, height & area, egress, and more, backed by the same rigor an AHJ expects to see, so there's no ambiguity when it reaches their desk.
The Report can be modified for use in construction documents.
